But let me say, this is a really minor thing, and unless you look close, you wouldn't think these are low-quality at all. Now the good news - they are beautiful! They have a cool contemporary look, and add a lot to the room. With the shade, you get a soft glow, so they would make good 'mood lamps'. They are full-height floor lamps, and are much better than we expected for the price. If you can get over that they aren't high-end craftsmanship, you'll be very happy with these lamps. We bought 2 and were impressed with how nice they were for the under-$80 price range, and we ended up buying a 3rd...
